I used to get really cranked up for the start of the NASCAR season, but not so much anymore. Too many changes in the sport, changes that I think have hurt the sport, I understand the safety aspect but come on, we all know there is a risk factor involved, not racing to the caution flag has killed a lot of the competitiveness on the track as well as the yellow line rule, I say if they are able to maintain control, let them pass in the grass, that's entertainment! the lucky dog sucks, green, white, checker sucks. And most of all, if I see another phantom debris caution flag thrown just to bunch up the field, I'm gonna puke. There are races that I still circle on the calendar every year, the 500 is one of them, I'll watch some of, but not with the same intensity that I did say in the mid to late 90's. Bristol races I'll for sure watch, that's still about as old school NASCAR as it gets, it's still pretty good racing, pretty tough to tame that race down. The cookie cutter tracks, I'll read about those races in the Monday sports section.
Out of my dismay of cup racing I have found a liking to the truck series, that's some pretty entertaining stuff right there, those guys beat the crap out of each other week in and week out, kinda like cup racing used to be.
