Not a bad way for 3-4 guys to go together on an order.
They are on Ebay and bassboatcentral or look them up. |
Who besides me wants a piece of this action???? _________________ TERRY

No, I really don't. If I did I wouldn't have spent the last 3 years beating on you trying to get all the information I have tried to get out of you only to have you give these vague responses that leave me still wondering what the heck it is you really throw when you go fishing.
I'm to the point now where I really don't care anymore, its more of a challenge to me to see if I can actually get you to say anything that someone may be able to take to the lake and use to help them catch more fish. It is the reason that we all come here after all. I know sometimes it may seem to some that we all come here just to give each other a hard time and see what each other is up to from day to day. That is indeed part of it. HOWEVER, in the end it really comes down to guys that trust in the experience of other anglers and are willing to learn from each other. People pour there souls out in posts that make there fingers hurt from typing. They don't do that cause they need typing practice I'm pretty darn sure. So for that I try and pay very close attention.
For example: Brian, he sat there at the outing and basically gave me every spot he had on the lake and what baits he fishes in those areas. (Something he did not need to do at all) I am still thinking about the conversation and trying to absorb it all and make sure I can learn from that. Those are the kinda things that you ONLY get from a group like this. So, those are the things that I spend a lot of time trying to drag out of guys heads. Even if they don't want to give up the information. I feel it is my duty to do that. Cause when one person is willing to spill 20+ years of fishing know how out to someone else without asking for anything in return, then I feel they should get something back equally as valuable even though they did not expect or ask for it.
I sure hope some of that makes some sense. I don't know if it does or not. I am not trying to call you out or anything like that John. I am simply using the fact that I know so little about what you do from fishing trip to fishing trip that it is a perfect way to explain the 2 different sides of 2 different fisherman and what they believe truly affects fish or fishing.
I have no problem telling anyone at any time what and where I am fishing. (censored) I'll hand you one if you want. For example: Outing Challenge, I had fished all the spots I had hard, I had caught my limit and I was feeling decent. Every person in the event I seen after that point that didn't have a limit I told to go fish that exact bank with that exact bait. I wasn't worried about it. Cause I don't believe in my mind that you fishing it has any affect on me fishing it. NONE, ZERO, NODDA! Cause you are not me, you don't fish it where I fish it, how I fish it, at the speed with which I fish it or on the same line as I fish it on. So we just as well be fishing 2 seperate baits. (Or that's how I see it.) I believe Brian prolly feels much the same way I do about this situation, or he wouldn't have told me everything he did. He knows he can tell me what hump the bass are living on in what depth of water on what day but it doesn't mean I will be able to go catch them. OR if I do go catch them it will be doing anything in a manor that would affect him from coming and catching them the way he would.
Again, I hope some of that makes sense. I know its a lot of bla bla bla but basically what it comes down to is no, I really don't know that much about your go to baits or how you attack finding fish. I can only assume that is because you don't feel the way I do about someone fishing baits and spots. That is totally cool, you don't have too. But don't be surprised if I continue to hammer on you to try and get what I can out of you or if others clam up when talking about baits or whatever when you do something similar. That's all I am saying. _________________ Randy Ellison

| Wow! I have always said, you can tell someone exactly what you are using and it won't matter anyway. Kind of like what you are saying. Everyone seems to fish enough differently that it may not work for them like it is working for you. I thought you knew I was a diehard worm fisherman! I am a Berkley nut. I think I have said that many times in the last few years. I think I might even give Tressa a run for her money! Worms are definetly my go to bait!! Now, how I fish them varies from one time to the other. As you know, you have to let the fish tell you what they want. I think you know I prefer fishing finesse techniques. That of course means going light. I do sometimes fish weightless and rarely go heavier than a 1/16th and often lighter. Seriously though, my "go to" bait is different for different times of the year and different water conditions and even different lakes. I can honestly say that a jig and pig has never been my "go to" bait but I also know that it probably should be. As everyone knows on this site, it is responsible for catching more big bass than any other bait. Generally, I am not after that one big bite. I enjoy fishin and I enjoy catchin almost as much. That is why I stick with what I know best. What I know best is lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinner baits and worms including all the variations including lizards etc. I enjoy topwater frogs when the conditions are right too. Smallies are something special for me and believe it or not, I have caught more smallies on a 32nd oz. jig than anything else. Ya, a jig. I dress them up a variety of ways. The tiny Paca is just one of many ways. There is something about a 32nd that few fish can turn down. Crappies and gills, well, a jig again, rarely bigger than a 32nd and often drop down to a 64th. You can keep your minnows, I like plastics. Rarely can anyone outfish a small jig rigged properly with the right plastic. If someone ask me what my "go to" bait is then I have to know more information. What are the water conditions, what is the water temp, what time of year, prespawn, spawn, postspawn. Maybe I really don't have a "go to" bait but if I had to just use one all year long in all fishin conditions, I couldn't give up my worm! As all of you know, there are just to many variables. That is what makes fishin, fishin and not always catchin! _________________ Rookie Lake Q fishrman keepfishn4fun
