Ryan, when you say you make them weedless. How do you do that?

John,do I have to tell? Most guys I see fish tubes are using a jig from 1/8th to 1/4.I have some friends that are very good bass anglers that fish this way.They run the hook of the jig through tube,but hook is exposed of course.I never fish my tubes this way.I use very small 1/16th oz. internal tube jig that sets inside tube completely when rigged right,thus making it weedless.The problem for most guys is that they just can't fish slow enough to fish it right.I've caught 1000's of bass,my boys do well with this rig also,and we've never had a hook break using this type of rig.But again,SLOW as it takes a long time for this type of rig to fall in water over 10+ deep.I've caught smallies with it in 20' of water.

Sooo, Ryan, you are just letting the fish expose the hook when they bite? I mean, you aren't even skin hooking the barb? As a finesse guy, I am interested in this technique. I would even go to a 32nd if I could. Manufacturers are getting better with the smaller stuff, finally.

John, tube jig is inside tube,so yes when the fish bite, a good hook set is a must to drive it home.

Basshawk,enjoyed your thoughts on your rigging options on tubes.We've used the larger offset hooks at times also,but I prefer the internal jigs for our clear water lakes.

Excellent article! Makes me want to get on the water and try it. I really like the idea of the variety of different fish that would bite on those little things.
