I went pricing rides today and is the electronic fule injection really worth the $1000 over the regualr carb?? everything else seems to be the same other than that.

Well Mike. I would guess that yes it is. I have been on one that has it. Can't tell much difference in the power but EFI is gonna require less overall fixin during the life of it. The carb is the one thing on a wheeler people are generally always fighting.

Now do you need it. Nope not one bit. That carberated machine will work perfect for many many years also with some regular cleanings. Totally up to you. I would prolly spend it though if I had it cause I have had a fair amount of carb issues now that mine has gotten some age on it.

So overall. Tough call on that one. scratch

Although, once again, you have another issue. Much more electrical brain box stuff going on with a EFI machine so if something went wrong with that I bet it would cost more to fix than just rebuilding a carb. Wink

My opinion would be ----- go for the EFI. I am a tightwad and generally by "fixer upper" stuff. If I had the $$$$ and could go pick out what I wanted , it would definitely have EFI. The early systems were troubles , but like todays autos , EFI is pretty much troublefree anymore. ...is it worth an extra $1000 ? ---- I cant really see how it could be.

Buy what you see that you like ... you will be the one who gets to enjoy it.
