Well Mike. I would guess that yes it is. I have been on one that has it. Can't tell much difference in the power but EFI is gonna require less overall fixin during the life of it. The carb is the one thing on a wheeler people are generally always fighting.
Now do you need it. Nope not one bit. That carberated machine will work perfect for many many years also with some regular cleanings. Totally up to you. I would prolly spend it though if I had it cause I have had a fair amount of carb issues now that mine has gotten some age on it.
So overall. Tough call on that one.
Although, once again, you have another issue. Much more electrical brain box stuff going on with a EFI machine so if something went wrong with that I bet it would cost more to fix than just rebuilding a carb.
