Definately not the best move Jr has ever made but you'll have that. Pretty uneventful way to end the race too. Personally I think they should have waited out the rain but Daytona is a huge track to get dry.

Horrible way to end the race, and I like Kenseth, stand up guy. When Mike Waltrip won on a rain shortened 500 they waited out the weather a lot longer than yesterdays race. I suppose it has a lot to do with getting the teams headed back to N.C. and then on to California. Starting the race at 2:30 instead of noon has a hand in that as well.

Jr. did some stupid stuff yesterday, he was his own worst enemy and he took his frustrations out on Vickers which was unfortunate for him and the rest of the field ( minus Kyle Busch, that I was happy about ).

Well Kyle Busch was the car to beat, it looks like another hot year for that kid. Not many like it but he can flat out drive, but he makes some stupid decisions kind of like Junior. Just think of all the beer cans that wold have hit the track if the shoe was on the other foot. If Junior would of had a car like Kyle and got caught up in that wreck there may have been a riot! It could have topped off an awesome weekend for Kyle with a 2nd in the truck series, 2nd in the Nationwide, and a 1st in the 500.

true dat, he can drive, just don't like his personality comes off as a snot nose punk. And you are 100% right on the fan reaction had that been Jr. getting wrecked w/ the best car, no question, they would have gone ape.

Didn't he finish 4th in the Nationwide race?? smartazz

He can drive like no one else. But the way he was blocking early in the race, he is lucky he wasn't wrecked earlier on.

He can drive (18) but he was lucky not to cause a wreck or two earlier with his driving. Yeah Jr. really caused a big one there but it was a matter of inches that he was wrong in thinking he was clear of him I'm sure there is a few crewchiefs getting their buts chewed for tel the drivers not to worry about the rain!!!!!!!! I do think it was a terrible call by NASCAR but I thik you can put that call on the economy too...

Oh yeah, thats true Mark, 4th it was. His bump and run didn't pay off then either as well as in the truck race. But Junior was also driving through the field like an idiot at the 100 lap mark of the 500.

I ain't a #18 fan, but just giving a some credit and stirring the pot a little. Smile

I'm with chopper. What I like about Kyle is you'll never see him "points racing" it's checkers or wreckers every race. But I've never saw him turn a car a lap down and wreck the field.

I think theres so much pressure placed on Jr. to fill his dads shoes that he can't even concentrate. Seems like anymore he makes one small miscue and can't recover the rest of the race.

Oh well, still was a decent race, I would have liked to see the underdog #19 Elliot Sadler pull it off, but thats racing. Until next week.....

They were both a lap down at that point of the race I thought

That is correct! They were both a lap down racing for the lucky dog.

I would agree with this statement. Waaay to much pressure on the guy and fact of the matter is we already know he isn't the driver his father was and he isn't really trying to be, IMO. However he is trying to produce the results in a totally different day with a totally different style. I think he needs to friggin lighten up and just go have some fun and chances are the results will come. If not and I was him I'd just say f' it! He'll be the richest mofo to never do much of anything in Cup Racing. Might as well just go live it up. cheers

Now as for the wreck. Just a bone headed move whether racin for the lucky dog or not. You still know if that goes the way it did you had the chance to wipe out 3/4 or more of the field including all of your team cars. I bet Mr Hendrick had a little sit down with him either way. Evil or Very Mad

I agree Randy, there has to be enormous pressure on the guy, I mean Hammond and DW were saying before the race that Jr. has to win and win big this year or else! OR ELSE WHAT? he makes Hendrick a ton of $ without winning a frigging race. No doubt jr. wanted to win the race Sunday, just went a little too far and screwed himself, I'm sure there were several teams that weren't happy with him
